Smokey was a white Welsh Mountain Pony who lived in East Anglia, England, with Anna and her family. When they met Smokey they knew he was a remarkable pony. He made new friends with Portia the Persian Chinchilla Cat and Jo Jo the Pheasant. Smokey was much more than a pet, he learnt many tricks and enjoyed wearing his sunglasses on sunny days especially if the rest of the family were wearing theirs! He joined them for breakfast and enjoyed eating a slice of toast at the breakfast table, along with the occasional cup of tea! His adventurous personality and eagerness to help everyone would eventually lead Smokey being cast as the hero in Anna’s books.
